Simon Luhr
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Simon Luhr has extensive experience in investment banking and is Founder and CEO of the FinEx Group of Companies. A distinguished entrepreneur with a talent for identifying new opportunities, Simon has built many successful businesses over his 35 year career. Highly experienced at establishing and running companies on a global scale. As Founding Partner and CEO of hedge funds SW1 Capital and Marble Bar Asset Management, Simon was responsible for all aspects of their management, playing a crucial role in business development, resulting in the successful sale of both firms. Simon was Managing Director of global financial services group Nomura, where he was also a member of the international management, capital commitment and risk committees.
Martin Bednall
Chief Operating Officer
Martin Bednall has worked in financial services for over 25 years in various roles across investment management, trading and custody operations with Blackrock, Barclays Global Investors and State Street. Martin has managed complex, multi-asset class transitions, integrated portfolio management businesses and was responsible for ETF product development at iShares. Prior to joining the FinEx Group in 2014, Martin was responsible for the European iShares Product team at Blackrock. His team was responsible for the launch and management of all ETPs in Europe. During the period iShares established itself as the dominant global leader in ETFs with the broadest range of products. Martin is a CFA charterholder.
Alasdair Alexander
Chief Risk Officer
Alasdair Alexander joined the FinEx Group in December 2020. Prior to FinEx, Alasdair was Risk Manager at Cheyne Capital from 2015 focusing on the more liquid strategies at Cheyne including the daily monitoring of the market risk, credit risk, counterparty risk and liquidity risk of Cheyne’s funds. Additionally, Alasdair served as Designated Person for Risk Management for Cheyne’s Irish domiciled funds. Earlier in his career, Alasdair was a Performance Analyst with Pantheon Ventures where he was responsible for the monthly valuations of the company’s publicly listed fund. Alasdair earned his BSc Mathematics from the University of Warwick.
Egor Papoulov
Compliance Officer
Egor Papoulov joined the FinEx Group in October 2020. Prior to FinEx, Egor spent several years at JP Morgan, first as Onboarding Officer at JP Morgan Private Bank in Edinburgh then as part of the JP Morgan Private Bank Investments Client Service Team in London. Earlier in his career, Egor was Junior Legal Counsel at the Banque Internationale a Luxembourg in Luxembourg and Client Representative at Credit Agricole in Strasbourg. Egor earned both his Bachelor degree in Finance and his Masters degree in Legal and Financial Engineering from the University of Strasbourg.
